"I have been told that I should “layer” my clothes for warmth. I do this. I begin with skivvies, add cargo pants below, a special *Nike* shirt above and then I top it off with a red, white and blue windbreaker, complete with high collar and an attached hood.".....
That is NOT LAYERING!!! That is trying to look bulky or fat!!!
Skivvies=ok, next Thermo Silks=top & bottom (thin, tightly woven)they will let dampness out & keep warmth inside.
Next...Hikers pants or nylon sweatpants (stay away from cotton/jeans, they hold water,lose body heat)....
Next...comfortable/loose T-shirt, it will soak up the sweat from your upper body.
Next...a light nylon jacket. Cooling effect.
Head...sweatband
NOW...no bulky clothes....Slim outline, the clothes are all WORKING FOR YOU...inside & outside!!
You will look like a MAN on a mission, stylishly dressed for running, walking, shopping or at leisure!!

Mr. Hirt gets his extraordinary writing ability and sense of humor from having sniffed too much carbon tetrachloride in the crypto shack of a destroyer escort. It has aged him, too. Although he looks impressive with his handsome beard and grey hair, he's only 30 years old.

I can still dance around the house with the oldies...
"Chimmy, Chimmy Coco Pop", "Wipe Out", "Telstar", and sing along with "Raindrops Falling on my Head", "Love Me Tender" and others.
So far no bodily injuries have occured with all the old "wild" dance movements...ha-ha
Keeps me limber and energetic and smiling....

Homer....I know what you mean and I am going down (on the scales) the same road as you.
But where you are exercising (walking) I just seem to be losing weight...I'm not sure where it is going or what is making it leave, but I am enjoying it's loss!
I think picking up all those Pine Needles in my yard when I'm outside with the pups, all that bending over from the waist...rather than just sitting on the porch...is finally paying off!! I just had 3 links removed from my watch band...a tribute to a smaller me!!
